I must say, as I think back on this weekend, I’m blown away by the amazing response to the video premier party.

When we first met with Joshua Black Wilkins and kicked around the idea of making three music videos in three days, I thought it was more than a little crazy. Then when we started talking about how to debut these videos, my friend Caitlin jumped in headfirst and began connecting the dots: an event set up and torn down in one looooooong day at Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar. Three separate viewing stations inside art installations by David Burnett. Me playing a live set with my band. Drinks. Lights. Friends old and new.

It didn’t seem possible to me, even as we were planning it.

And the truth is, it wasn’t possible for me, at least not alone. It was only possible because of the incredibly talented people who were willing to put their energy into making the night a success. It was a great celebration – not just of music, but of art, and of hard work, and most importantly, of community.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped set up before and tear down afterward, who worked the door and the bar, who came down and experienced the videos and gave us hugs and high fives and encouragement.

I love this community, and I hope we can all keep pushing each other ahead and building each other up. We’re less than a month into 2014, and I’ve got a good feeling about this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

(PS: keep an eye out for the videos online. I’ll make sure you know when they are available to view and share. Good things are coming!)
